The role of MQTT Broker in the artificial intelligence Internet of Things
MQTT Broker is the core component of message transmission in the artificial intelligence Internet of Things. It is responsible for receiving, storing and forwarding messages between devices and applications, realizing communication and data interaction between different devices and systems, and enabling the entire Internet of Things system to operate efficiently and stably.
A. Composition process and steps
- Device connection:
Various devices in the Internet of Things, such as sensors, actuators, etc., establish connections with MQTT Broker through the MQTT protocol and send connection requests to Broker.
- Message publishing:
The device publishes the collected data or status information to the MQTT Broker in a certain topic format. For example, the temperature sensor publishes the current temperature data to the “temperature/sensor1” topic.
- Message storage and forwarding
After receiving the message, the MQTT Broker stores the message in the memory or database according to the topic and subscription relationship of the message, and forwards it to the device or application that has subscribed to the corresponding topic.
- Application reception
The application subscribes to topics of interest from the MQTT Broker. When new messages are published to these topics, the application will receive the messages in a timely manner and perform corresponding processing, such as data analysis, visualization, etc.
B. Advantages of our AIoT MQTT Broker
- Lightweight protocol
The MQTT protocol is concise, efficient, and occupies little bandwidth. It is suitable for running on resource-constrained IoT devices, which can reduce the communication burden of devices and improve data transmission efficiency.
- Publish/subscribe mode
The publish/subscribe message communication mode is adopted to decouple the direct connection between devices and applications, so that devices only need to focus on data publishing, while applications only need to focus on subscriptions to topics of interest, which improves the flexibility and scalability of the system.
- Reliable message delivery
Supports multiple message quality levels (QoS), which can ensure reliable message delivery according to different application requirements. For example, QoS 1 can ensure that messages are delivered at least once, and QoS 2 can ensure that messages are delivered only once and not repeated.
C. Our Challenges
- High Concurrency Processing
With the increase in the number of IoT devices, MQTT Broker may face high concurrent message processing pressure, and needs to have strong performance and scalability to ensure efficient and stable operation when a large number of devices are connected and sending messages at the same time.
- Security and Authentication
In the IoT environment, data security is crucial. MQTT Broker needs to provide secure communication mechanisms such as TLS/SSL encryption, user authentication and access control to prevent data leakage and illegal access, but this may increase the complexity and performance overhead of the system.
- Data Persistence and Recovery
When Broker fails or restarts, it is necessary to ensure the persistent storage and correct recovery of messages to avoid data loss, but it is not easy to achieve efficient and reliable data persistence and recovery mechanisms, and it is necessary to consider storage performance, data consistency and other factors.
